The Albany Historic Carousel & Museum began as a dream of Wendy Kirbey in 2002. What started as a community effort to bring a world-class, hand-carved carousel to Albany has grown into a landmark of artisanal excellence and joyful memories.
Through countless hours of volunteer carving and painting, each animal in our menagerie tells a story of dedication. Today, the project continues to thrive through the generosity of our supporters who ensure the magic remains accessible to all.
Today, the Carousel is a place where:

- The vanishing art of hand-carving is taught and preserved.
- History is brought to life through a functional, spinning museum of art.
